Adoption Information Event
October 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Doesn’t every child deserve a safe and loving home? Slough Children’s Services Trust is seeking adoptive families to take in children who are desperate for a family to call their own and to finally develop a sense of belonging. Could this be you?
Adoption is a way of providing a new family for children who cannot be brought up by their own parents. It is a legal procedure in which parental responsibility – the right to make all decisions about the child and their upbringing – is transferred to adoptive parents following the granting of an adoption order by the court.
An adopted child becomes a full member of their new family, usually taking the family’s name, and a legal connection to their birth family no longer exists. Once an adoption order has been granted it cannot be reversed except in extremely rare circumstances, if the legal process has not been properly followed.
People choose to adopt for a variety of reasons. Some because they are unable to have a child biologically, and others who feel they wish to share their family life with a child who may need them.
Come along and meet our friendly adoption team to find out more about more about what it means and the support we can offer you. Please let us know if you intend to come by using the contact details below.
